Hmmm...

I have noticed when friends are excited and they pump their hand in the air, they refer to it as the "Jersey Shore Fist Pump." Maybe I need more friends my own age, because everytime I hear this I can't help but wonder when did the "Jersey Shore" Fist Pump take over for the "Arsenio Hall" Fist Pump?! Perhaps I'm showing my age. Perhaps I'm just feeling nostalgic for a day when the fist pump was associated with happy and not trashy?!

Hello!

It's been awhile. Sorry. Just usually touching base with everyone on FB! But I will attempt to be better at touching base with the Blog too!

So I am curious what people think of the new Two and a Half Men. I have watched a few episodes and while watching the last one thought to myslef... "this idea is going to get old."

Incase you haven't watched... Ashton's Character is a billionaire whose wife wants a divorce because he is really immature. Doesn't clean, cook, know what products he uses, etc... He bought Charlie's house but still hasn't grown up.

The 1st few episodes were cute and you can chuckle... but the idea now that he meets girls, but still loves his wife, but won't grow up just seems a little stale now?! And the fact he is rich and can pay someone to do all the things he doesn't know how to do doesn't help him?!

What do you think?! I'm interested to see where the story lines go. I still think that Charlie isn't "Actually" dead and when Charlie Sheen has gotten himself together officially he will come back or at least revisit?! The way they "killed" him was definately left open to his return... We'll see.

Affordable Valentine's Day!

You don't have to spend a lot of money to let someone know you love them. Maybe it's your signifcant other, maybe it's a friend or a family member... Here are a few inexpensive ways to say "I Love You!"

* Little Notes! It may seem silly, but a note of encouragement or good wishes may be just what someone needs for a pick me up! My college roomate and I used to leave each other notes on mirrors, in drawers, it always made our day!

* A romantic date... not out. Cook up a delicious meal, then lay a blanket in the living room for an indoor picnic! It's a fun way to enjoy a winter day inside (affordably).

* Make an "I'll do that" list... take everyday things like laundry, dishes, cleaning, that they usually do every week and give them that list but letting them know YOU will do those things this time! (although helping out with these things EVERY week usually makes for a happier household! teehee)

* Appreciation week or month (maybe BOTH do this for each other) ! Pick a week or month and each day you have to let the other person know WHY you appreciate them! Plus you have to show them, maybe flowers one day, dinner another day, a card, a little gift, a massage, etc... you can be creative and still affordable.
Feel free to share the ways YOU show loved ones you care, even if on a budget!

Change the Name...

I looked up the definitions of "Star"... and than "Celebrity":

Star- An artistic performer or athlete whose leading role or superior performance is acknowledged; One who is highly celebrated in a field or profession.

Celebrity- A widely known person; a famous person; fame notoriety.

Based on these definitions and the recent casting of people like Bristol Palin, I think they should change the name of "Dancing with the Stars" to "Dancing with a Celebrity".
That is all.

A Dog Park in the Lakes Region!

Of course, we as a community need to be responsible for ourselves and our dogs.
And I'd like to think the Lakes Region could do that!
I know other communities have dog parks and they work;
I drove to Portsmouth with my husband and dog yesterday so we could check out a park...
I know there is a dog park area in Concord too...
Yet, I reside in the Lakes Region and would love to see a dog park happen here!

Stars behind bars!?!

There are one or two random people I graduated HS with who had rough home lives, stayed in our hometown, got involved with drugs for financial purposes, got caught and have gone to prision for years! They couldn't afford fancy lawyers. And I'm pretty sure when they get out they will try hard, but won't have it easy financially and will struggle to get a great paying job because of their record, and maybe because they couldn't afford an expensive college education, etc... etc...

Yet! We as a society seem to be ok with "stars" who do the exact same thing?! Just because they moved to Hollywood, have money, and play "dress up" for a job, somehow it's OK?! I get that they are in the "limelight" and that contributes... but if they can't handle it then get a regular job and let the people who can handle it do that job! I'm pretty sure they won't leave though, because then if they got in trouble they couldn't make millions to be interviewed about their couple of days in jail?!

None of it seems right?! If doing or dealing drugs is bad, then EVERYONE should deal with the consequences of their decisions! OR... if we are going to let stars off easy, at least make part of their sentance to financially help those who aren't getting off easy to get into a good rehab or to get an education and skills that can help them contribute to society?!
